She love me and I love her! That’s what makes us best friends. It was the moment I could start moving on my own that our friendship really took flight. In the beginning I wasn’t too sure of her. She would get in my way and try to snuggle me when I was trying to rest. But, now...well, now is a different story.
Our Hello Routine: I say hi to her every chance I get. This isn’t a regular hi though, it is a you are my best friend hi with a wave that I am sure she sees because I put it right in her line of sight so she never misses it. I started with just saying hi, but I don’t think she knew I was talking to her, so I add her name to it now, but she still didn’t seem sure, so I incorporate the direct wave now and I am sure she knows because it usually causes her to stretch, which I think is her way of saying hi right back.
Mutual Snuggling: Ever time I see her up on the windowsill, I run over and give her a big hug. She usually returns it with a high five, but I am never quick enough to get my hand up in time. She loves my hugs and I usually follow them up with some pats on the back. I think she likes the pats on the back because she usually gives me a little squeal when I do it.
Games: We play so many games together. She loves to play tag and hide & go seek the best. She is best at the hiding part and I am really good at the tag part. I chase her and call her name and she runs all over. She doesn’t know yet that I can’t jump over the gates as well as she does, so sometimes the game has to end a little short.
Meal Time: Don’t tell Mom and Dad, but I throw my food on the floor on purpose. She is usually hanging around under my high chair and I think she is hungry. I don’t know why she doesn’t sit up at the table with us, so I throw food down to her. I have heard Mom say that it hits her in the head, but I think it is just her way of playing with it.
Yep, “Tottins” and I are best friends! I don’t know why Mom and Dad call her Stockings, because she is my best friend and I call her “Tottins” and she LOVES it! - Big Man
