Will I have to teach them everything?
Mom and I ride around town in my van most days. She tends to be the driver so I can sit in the back and watch my movies. I wear what she has always referred to as "my ears" when I am watching my movie. I finally informed her last night that they are not called "ears" they are in fact headphones. I wonder how many other things I am going to have to teach these parents of mine? - Big Man

A Case of the Mondays
It's obviously Monday because these words have come out of my mouth today:
"Mom? Please close my door so I can go back to sleep."
"You can go downstairs and eat breakfast Mom, I'll stay here and sleep."
"I'm out of coffee Mom. Maybe I could get some more after preschool?"
"Mommy? Mommy?" "Yes? Why aren't you taking your nap?" "I pooped and can't find my binki."
Hopefully the week will get better because today has been stressful! - Big Man

Silly Dog
I have a dog named Cori that lives at my Nonny's house. My Poppy is usually at my Nonny's house too and he loves my dog Cori very much. This silly dog is always doing some crazy things. She pees on my Nonny's carpet and I help Nonny tell her "No no no". She goes poo poo in the house sometimes too. Tonight she did the craziest thing I have seen her do. She ran all over the house like a crazy dog because Poppy and Nonny gave her a bath! I don't know why she got so crazy, but she was running and rolling all over the place. It was so funny. She must really love her bath time because I could tell she was really excited. I don't think they give her baths very often because I've never seen her act like this before. Lucky for her I dropped my chocolate milkshake on her head after dinner so they had no choice but to give her a little scrub. You're welcome my silly dog! - Big Man

Dog Gone It
I had to be a workin' man today. Poppy, Daddy, and I were very busy. We had to spend our Saturday picking up a big mess all because of one trouble making "shitmunk" That's right. This week Nonny informed me of a very serious situation. Out by her new flowers a "shitmunk" has decided to dig a hole. There is dirt EVERYWHERE. I knew as soon as Poppy saw it he was going to say, "Dog gone it! Oh Shitmunk!" and sure enough, that is what he said.
So today was the day to clean up the mess. We got our shoes on and headed outside to be workin' men. Poppy got the dust pan and gave me the broom. This is when I realized that the broom made a great guitar. I decided I was most beneficial playing some guitar-broom music for Poppy while he picked up the mess. All in a days work. Silly "Shitmunk". - Big Man
Growing Up and Changing My Ways
a repost from May 16, 2010
There comes a time in each man’s life when he has to realize that he is getting older and some of the things that he used to do as a child just won’t cut it anymore. I have reached that point. I have looked over the years and decided that the time has come. My maturity has reached a breaking point. Life as I know it needs to change. My changes will impact multiple people, but it needs to be done. This weekend I decided to bite the bullet. I tried out my new ways and they were well received. The lady teared up a bit, but I think she is okay with it now. From this point on, I no longer live with “Mama” and “Dada”. As a man, I now live with “Mommy” and “Daddy”. They continue to respond, so I think it will stay this way forever. - Big Man

My Best Friend
a repost from April 29, 2010
She love me and I love her! That’s what makes us best friends. It was the moment I could start moving on my own that our friendship really took flight. In the beginning I wasn’t too sure of her. She would get in my way and try to snuggle me when I was trying to rest. But, now...well, now is a different story.
Our Hello Routine: I say hi to her every chance I get. This isn’t a regular hi though, it is a you are my best friend hi with a wave that I am sure she sees because I put it right in her line of sight so she never misses it. I started with just saying hi, but I don’t think she knew I was talking to her, so I add her name to it now, but she still didn’t seem sure, so I incorporate the direct wave now and I am sure she knows because it usually causes her to stretch, which I think is her way of saying hi right back.
Mutual Snuggling: Ever time I see her up on the windowsill, I run over and give her a big hug. She usually returns it with a high five, but I am never quick enough to get my hand up in time. She loves my hugs and I usually follow them up with some pats on the back. I think she likes the pats on the back because she usually gives me a little squeal when I do it.
Games: We play so many games together. She loves to play tag and hide & go seek the best. She is best at the hiding part and I am really good at the tag part. I chase her and call her name and she runs all over. She doesn’t know yet that I can’t jump over the gates as well as she does, so sometimes the game has to end a little short.
Meal Time: Don’t tell Mom and Dad, but I throw my food on the floor on purpose. She is usually hanging around under my high chair and I think she is hungry. I don’t know why she doesn’t sit up at the table with us, so I throw food down to her. I have heard Mom say that it hits her in the head, but I think it is just her way of playing with it.
Yep, “Tottins” and I are best friends! I don’t know why Mom and Dad call her Stockings, because she is my best friend and I call her “Tottins” and she LOVES it! - Big Man

Sliding
A repost from April 28, 2010
Finally, the weather is getting sunny and warm again! The sun started shining a few weeks ago and we were starting to play outside every day and then it looked like winter came back all over again. I was stuck inside, which is fine because I love playing with my cars and blocks, but nothing beats my slide and swing outside in the fresh air. I wish my parents understood that I don’t care about eating dinner or that I bumped my face and my nose is bleeding, I never want to go back inside once I am out. Unfortunately, I am still little enough that they pick me up, regardless of how stiff I make my back and how loud I cry, and they take me in. Once I am in, I usually realize that they are right and eating dinner, taking a bath, or getting an ice pack for my face really is a good idea. Ugh...how do parents get to be so smart?
Anyways, my latest trick I have mastered outside in addition to counting “one, two, three” with Mom and Dad when they push me in my swing, is to find rocks, carry them up the gigantic ladder, watch them zoom down the slide, and then chase after them down the slide while yelling “WEEEEEE!” I am even getting better about landing on my feet at the bottom of the slide...and it is a BIG slide! (Sometimes I land on my butt on purpose though) - Big Man
